Occupational Safety and Health; It consists of studies to provide legal, technical and medical measures that must be taken to eliminate or reduce the health problems and occupational hazards faced by employees during the performance of work in the workplace. Occupational Safety and Health studies cover all measures to ensure working in a safer and healthier environment.

Therefore, the main purpose of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health within the Faculty of Applied Sciences is to train a qualified workforce capable of taking responsibility for occupational safety in enterprises. Graduates of the department, if they attend the necessary compulsory education and pass the exam; In accordance with the "Occupational Safety and Health Law", they also have the right to obtain the "Occupational Safety Specialist" certificate, which is mandatory in all industrial and service facilities. The number of trained technical staff in the field of occupational safety in Turkey is not at a level to meet the need. Graduates with the competence and authority to provide or organize these services have high employment opportunities.

During the four-year education period, students will be specialized in the fields of determining the risks of occupational accidents and occupational diseases in workplaces, minimizing these risks, creating a healthy and safe working environment, eliminating hazards at the source, producing quality service by giving all the attention of employees to their work in this environment, increasing the profitability of the business by minimizing legal, conscientious and financial responsibilities as a result of any accident, and will graduate as "Occupational Safety and Health Licensee" to assist employers and managers in the field of Occupational Safety and Health.

The syllabus of our department is given in the attachment. Students who will enroll in our department will be required to attend the course in accordance with the regulations applied throughout COMU regarding the attendance obligation.
